Y-Leaders
Join one of our FREE Y Leaders programs and get equipped to be effective and empowered leaders.
The Y Leaders Program at YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester is a leadership initiative that aims to equip young women with the tools they need to be effective and empowered leaders.
Our interactive, arts-based program takes our participants through engaging workshops that explore important leadership topics and teach how to develop strong communication skills, understand your values, beliefs, priorities and passions, build healthy relationships, and boldly navigate spaces with confidence and ease. We also use creative activities, storytelling, mindfulness exercises, group conversation and positive affirmations for personal development and healthy emotional wellbeing.
We offer two different programs throughout the year: our School Year Program (meets most Wednesdays from 5pm – 6:30pm, October – May) or our Summer Bootcamp (one week each summer in July/August).

The YWCA’s core mission of empowering women and eliminating racism drives the vision and mission of our Y Leaders initiative. Our goal is to equip young women with the tools they need to develop into the best leaders they can be while taking care of themselves on their journey and preparing them for the future.
We recognize that leadership comes in all forms. Some leadership is loud, others quiet, some at the forefront and others as the backbone and support. Our program aims to foster and encourage all types of leadership and recognize that it takes a fully diverse, inclusive and intentional program to prepare students for the future.
