Are you looking for a quiet and friendly place to get your exercise and reach your fitness goals? If so, the YWCA is just what you’re looking for! We offer a friendly and low-key atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable, from the beginner exerciser to the serious fitness enthusiast. Our staff is always available to answer any questions about the equipment, help you with a particular exercise or guide you through the different exercise options available.

We firmly believe that anyone can accomplish their fitness goals with a little guidance and encouragement. We talk the talk and walk the walk. Success stories are all over the building and our greatest reward is seeing how these members have turned their lives around with their work and dedication. You can do it too!

Adult Fitness Classes

Personal Training
Become another YWCA success story by working with one of our trainers. Whether you choose to train five times a week or month a month, a trainer’s guidance and motivation will go a long way in helping you reach your health and fitness goals. Ask about multiple session discounts at the Fitness or Front Desk.

Karate
The YWCA is delighted to partner with Westchester Karate to bring this martial arts program to our facility. Westchester Karate instructors will teach the traditional Okinawan Goju-Ruy Karate which features both hard and soft techniques.

Fencing
Sheridan Fencing Academy of Westchester LLC brings their unique program to the YWCA. Students advance through program curriculum by taking periodic tests and assessment skills. Private lessons are also available.

Cardio
We offer a variety of Cardio classes that include high or low-intensity cardio movements while also incorporating time for Pilates and stretching or strengthening moves that build muscles groups

Pilates
This class strengthens and tones the muscles of the core, improving posture, flexibility, and balance. Mind and body connection is emphasized as well as correct breathing and technique. Modifications are taught so all levels can participate. The class ends with a mind-body connecting relaxation.

Power Sculpting
This class provides a full body workout using weights, bands, body bars and other resistance equipment. The format changes each week to allow participants to try various venues for sculpting and toning muscles. Modifications are given to accommodate all levels.

Spinning & Core
A 45-minute spinning class that is fun for the beginner or the seasoned athlete. It revs up your metabolism, builds strength and improves your cardiovascular endurance. It is followed by 15 minutes of core work.

Weight Loss & Toning
Get a full body workout in our Fitness Center under the guidance of a trainer. Learn how to work at an ideal level of cardiovascular intensity and how to exercise with proper form to burn fat and get toned. Ideal for all ages!

Yoga
Yoga is the oldest system of personal development. Yoga tones, stretches, and strengthens the body through postures, breathing, and meditation. It liberates vast resources of energy, calms the nerves, produces beneficial changes in the immune system and improves one’s mental state of being. Experience firsthand the profound benefits of yoga practice.

Zumba
These classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.

Cardio/Interval Training
HITT – High-Intensity Interval Training. Incorporate periods of low-intensity workout with periods of higher level intensity. The program is designed for all ages; increases body ability to oxidize fat/increase metabolism; increase overall endurance; helps the sedentary individual improve their daily activities and allows athletes to reach full potential; a variety of interval training programs weekly. If you stick to the same workout, over time you burn fewer calories. Keep your body progressing and keep up with the changes in your body with interval training.

Weight Training for Seniors
Strengthening exercises are important for maintaining the integrity of muscles and bones as well as improving balance, coordination, and mobility and well as. In addition, strength training can help reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic diseases, including arthritis.
