Before and After School Care

Program Office: 914.949.6227 ext. 109

The YWCA Kids’ Connection programs provide rewarding age-appropriate activities in a safe, structured, and positive environment. We believe that all programs for children must be based on a solid knowledge of the students served; how they learn, how they play, how they interact with adults, and with peers.

The goal of Kids’ Connection is to encourage exploration, learning, discovery, and independence to help children reach their fullest potential through active learning with well-planned activities. In addition, we strive to meet the individual needs of each student, enhancing a positive sense of self within a group setting.

The program observes the White Plains School District calendar.  Each child is met on arrival at the YWCA by a Kids Connection staff member. Daily after-school activities include time for homework, a snack, and a variety of indoor and outdoor play experiences. Special activities offered throughout the week may include swimming, cooking, arts and crafts. Transportation may be available for out of the district students.
