Judith Lundy
“The YWCA Residence has been a lifesaver for me and a lot of the women here. I came to the Y after being burned out of my place. During the past five years I have been able to pursue my dream of obtaining a career in health care, and I am many steps closer to my ultimate goal, being a first time home buyer!”

“The YWCA Residence has helped me in so many ways. I am disabled, and need to take the best care of myself, now and in the future. The Residence helps me with food from the Emergency Pantry, educational workshops, case management and transportation to doctor appointments. The YWCA gets me out of bed in the morning, and gives me the energy to keep living life.”

Pearl Slaughter
“The YWCA Residence is like a heart with open arms. I was scared and on the verge of homelessness when I came to the Y, and the staff and community made me feel like I was at home. The Residence is a place for everybody, so you make friends with people from all over the world. In my culture, in Hawaii, we never forget the person or place that gives you strength or gives you a helping hand. That is why I feel lucky and privileged to be a part of the YWCA Residence for Women. The Y gave me the strength to figure out my next steps in life.”
